Gemella Jewelry Blue Tourmaline & Diamond Earrings
Having recently purchased new gems for the 2009-2010 season, I’ve been totally in love with the tiny strands of diamonds I picked up. These are very small diamonds in shades of indicolite (my fave, remember?), moss green, and champagne. The champagne diamonds are natural; the indicolite and moss ones are irradiated to achieve that subtle, but intense, color. They’re fantastic!
Gemella Jewelry Diamond Pinwheel Earrings
As you can see, my most recent pieces feature the indicolite diamonds. They are the Blue Tourmaline and Diamond Dangle Earrings and the Blue Diamond Pinwheel Earrings. Each is part of a new collection entitled “Sun and Moon,” for obvious reasons. I am very much enjoying working with both fine silver and 18k gold, especially because fine silver resists tarnishing much more than traditional sterling. Plus it’s naturally softer and easier to work with.
I’ve also designed a subtle nuance for my earring findings, which is the pigtail curlicue at the bottom. It’s lighthearted and functional — a good combination.
